These are specially selected full revalve kits for Mesa Boogie owners. The sets consist of specially position selected pre amp valves that have been selected for each position in your Mesa. We have 2 pre amp kits, Standard gain, to give a warm and fat overdrive and Our Classic kit provides boogie owners with a valve close in tone to the vintage Mullard ECC83. In terms of 6L6GC we have selected sets available that will work with the boogies fixed bias arrangement. Certain 6L6GC will be better for certain kinds of music and these we have indicated in our product description.

This Harma 12AX7WA Vintage Philips 6L6WGB full upgrade kit is designed for a tight punchy attack with late break up. Tight American Rock tone with a crunchy harmonic kick without the fizz and muddiness.

The late break allows your pre amp to be cleaner which in turn does not drive your output valves as hard allowing you to get that power amp distortion more naturally resulting in more of your amps tone.

The Harma Vintage 12AX7WA was designed by the factory to combine the two most vital characteristics of the most famous ECC83 types. The famous Mullard fat midband that produces warm and thick mid sound with excellent note the definition.

The master stroke is that the Harma 12AX7WA retains the sparkle and chime that is found in the great vintage American General Electric 12AX7WA. It has the GE style large soundstage and gives the clean channel that chiming top end sparkle without being brittle or hard.

The Philips 6L6WGB are the original small bottle American Military JAN 6L6WGB/5881 that was made for the USA Military in the mid-1980's These are Full Jan Specification which means that they are long life and superbly made with the highest grade materials. No modern day 6L6GC valve is made to this specification.

No other valves give this amp that punchy harmonic kick to the sound. The valve has that tight midrange attack that provides that rich midrange twang. The top end is open and clear with a nice crunchy chime. Solo's and riffs are fat with a rich, warm harmonic sustain.

Power chords are perfect with enough crunch to add impact to the music with plenty of top string detail. Picking chord and runs simply jumped out of the speakers.

The Philips 6L6WGB does not get muddy and fizzy under extreme saturation or when heavily boosted. The tight punchy attack suits all styles of music from Classic Rock to Metal. These have always been my favourite 6L6 type in Mesa amplifiers as this valves clarity and punch is not bettered by any other 6L6 type.
