Philips electronics components group was the name given to the products marketed in America after Philips bought the American valve manufacturer Sylvania in the early 1980ís. Sylvania was a major manufacturer of valves and Philips bought them to get the lucrative American Government and military contracts. These valves are of the highest military grade which offer outstanding performance and were all made in the USA.
Original Military grade JAN specification 12AX7WA PHILIPS made in the U.S.A for the American government. The valve comes in its original government boxes and was made at the Philips ECG plant.

Philips continued to use the classic Sylvania design because of its robustness in military applications. The valve has a supported and rugged anode structure and is made with the highest quality components and materials. It therefore is no surprise that this valve outperforms all modern made 12AX7 types in critical listening tests.

In sonic terms, the valve produces a very warm clear sound. The bass response is very clear and solid. The valve has had many rave reviews across the world in magazines such as Vacuum Tube Valley. They gave the Philips 12AX7WA a best buy rating due to its excellent audio performance.
In our own tests when used in Prima luna amplifiers the Philips proved to sound the best.

This is also one of the very best replacement ECC83/12AX7 for use in valve microphones as many customers have reported more warmth, clarity and detail when using the Philips 12AX7WA
