Laney make some very fine sounding amplifiers.The stock speaker in most of the early amplifiers was their own H/H invader. This speaker range, to put it politely never enhanced the amplifiers sound quality. The Laney Lionheart is a really good sounding small British combo. This amplifier is transformed by upgrading the stock speaker and valves to a set of classic rock valves and the iconic Celestion G12H 55 Hz low resonance speaker.

The set provides a smooth fat midrange response and extended frequency response so you get a tight driving rock sound with plenty of rich sustain. This combination designed to give you the classic British sound with more top end bite

The Harma Retro provides a harmonically rich and detailed sound with 3D midrange warmth. They have an open and clear top end chime and together they produce a huge sustaining tone. The valves display a smooth linear midrange response so you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows that produce the classic slam in the bottom end. The valves produce a clear articulation and smooth even distortion when the amplifier is cranked.

Original G12H 55 Hz Celestions are very sought after for their thick sustain and growling bottom end punch. The unique tonal characteristics of the speaker and the overdriven characteristic made this the Guitarist choice. These were used by the cream of rock guitar as they were used by Hendrix, Blackmore, Kossoff and Page and opened the classic era of British rock music.

Why is this speaker so special?

No Speaker matches its thick sustain and growling bottom end punch.

Celestion developed this speaker for Marshall and it had be tonally the same as the vintage original.

Every detail of the original speaker was meticulously reproduced, voice coil winding lengths and voice coil materials. The Original materials were used for the coil former and dust cap with exact dimensions and specification. The cones edge treatment and adhesives were exactly replicated and finally two of the most vital sound secrets. The cones material properties changes tonally over time so the cones were manufactured to replicate this. The originals magnetic flux and the demagnetisation also changes over time and Celestion replicated this. The result was a perfectly aged and sounding replica of this iconic speaker and made, like the originals in England.

The Celestion G12H 55 Hz Low resonance speaker is an exact recreation of the 30 watt low resonance "pre Rola" G12H.

This combination removes the High end fizz and the rather brittle distortion characteristic which is the most common complaint levelled at this amplifier and brings the amplifiers sound back to life.
