Philips electronics components group was the name given to the products marketed in America after Philips bought the American valve manufacturer Sylvania in the early 1980ís. Sylvania was a major manufacturer of valves and Philips bought them to get the lucrative American Government and military contracts. These valves are of the highest military grade which offer outstanding performance and were all made in the USA.
These are original U.S.A made Philips Jan Military Specification ECC82/5814A and are an absolute audio bargain in terms of sound quality and reliability.
The 5814A/ECC82 was a special military grade valve that was designed to be used in aero Avionics and industrial communications equipment.

This valve being Military specification has proved to have exceptional reliability record when run hard in Government and Avionic applications. These valves were made with the highest grade materials and with no compromise on selection or quality control as they were for the American Government. These valves have a number of unique features such as high grade filament isolation so even after long periods of use the filament will not degrade. Immune to shock and vibration and were also rated for long life. To put it simply, No modern day ECC82 is made to this specification.

In audio circuits the valves have a very clear bass response, which is both tight and musical. The sound is well balanced and good even detail across the audio spectrum, with a clear and smooth treble response. The sound quality is not equaled by any modern day valve.
