One of the most famous American Valve manufactures of all time. RCA was responsible for designing and manufacturing many important valves such is the 6V6GT, 6L6GC, 7027a and the super EL84 known as 7189. RCA also pioneered many advances in manufacture such as the black plate coating and had a hand in helping GEC make the famous KT66.
The RCA 5879 is a specially designed pentode to provide low microphonics; low noise and low hum levels in critical audio amplifier applications. Due to these valves excellent sonic qualities they were used extensively by Gibson and in the film industry by Bell & Howell.
This valve has started to find its way in new modern audio and guitar amplifiers such as Divided by Thirteen. This has resulted in the RCA 5879 now becoming very scarce. We have a small stock of these USA made RCA valves.
