These are specially selected full revalve kits for Mesa Boogie owners. The sets consist of specially position selected pre amp valves that have been selected for each position in your Mesa. We have 2 pre amp kits, Standard gain, to give a warm and fat overdrive and Our Classic kit provides boogie owners with a valve close in tone to the vintage Mullard ECC83. In terms of 6L6GC we have selected sets available that will work with the boogies fixed bias arrangement. Certain 6L6GC will be better for certain kinds of music and these we have indicated in our product description.

This full revalve is designed to give you the maximum clarity and bass note definition with a large and clear sound with a deep bottom end thump.

The Harma ECC83 STR is used as it has a very well balanced tone with nice even solid bass. The mid-range is clean and transparent with plenty of high end chime and extended upper range harmonics.
This midrange response is important as it shows the difference when changing pickup selection or using different basses. This nice tonal variation that was lost in some other valves.

The Prodigy Four 88 takes a total of 4 KT88 valves in the output stage and therefore there is unfortunately no cheap shortcut when it is time for a revalve of this beast of an amp

In the output stage we use the JJ KT88 as this has proved to be one of the most reliable KT88 available. The valve has a rugged construction and thick glass which reduces microphonics and rattle. The valve produces a deep clear bass response, clear mids and smooth highs.

The JJ KT88 is superbly balanced with the mids sitting in the correct position and providing plenty of clear top end detail without being harsh. It has a rich warm sound with no hardness when turned up.
This valve will produce all the vintage rock bass sounds with ease.
