Laney Amplifiers were born in the West Midlands in 1967 by Lyndon Laney. The West Midlands was UK industrial heartland and Lyndon who was playing with The Band of Joy which included John Bonham on drums and Robert Plant on vocals wanted to design amplifiers that sounded different from what was commercially available.

The West Midlands has given us some of the greatest bands and most talented musicians that the UK has ever produced. So it is no surprise that Laney has grown into a multinational company with a loyal and strong customer base.

Laney can be rightly credited with the design of amplifiers that founded Heavy metal as Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath has been a lifelong user of Laney amplifiers. Today, Laney Still works with Black Sabbath and modern artists such as The Prodigy, The Foo Fighters, and Skindred. Laney are the jewel in the crown of UK amplifier manufacture as they continue to product a range of well-designed good sounding amplifiers. These upgrade kits are designed to help you get the best out of these British designed Amplifiers.

The Laney Classic Retro full revalve kit is designed to give you an instant upgrade over the standard Chinese valves by improving a number of important characteristics. This set has been designed to give more top end transparency and the classic warm tone with rich creamy distortion even under high levels of saturation.

The Harma ECC83 Retros provide a harmonically rich and detailed sound with 3D midrange warmth and a huge sustaining tone. Its smooth linear midrange response and extended bottom end ensure you get smooth warm overdrive with tight fat punchy lows.

The 6L6GCRetro is designed to break up later than many 6L6GC on the market in order to give that big clean sound. The valve produces an even and rich soundstage without sounding muddy under full distortion. The treble is clear and smooth and has a nice chime and close to the old USA made Philips Sylvania sound. The valves clarity and extended bass response makes this perfect for the modern high gain metal sound.

This combination removes the High end fizz and the rather harsh distortion characteristic that you get with the standard valves. You will get improvements in such as a crystal clear top end with more bass extension and clarity. This when added to the top ends smooth response makes this one of the best sounding 6L6GC on the market today and ideal for this amplifier.

The set consists of 12 valves

7 x Specially Selected Harma ECC83-Retro
1 x Specially Selected & Balanced Harma ECC83-Retro for the phase splitter
4 Selected and matched Harma 6L6GC Retro in a Quad.

Please note that this is the valves only
