These Pre amp revalve kits use specially chosen valves to help you attain the sound that you are looking for from your amplifier. The valves have been specially chosen for their sound characteristic. They are specially position matched as to their function in your amplifier. They are selected for gain, triode balance, low noise and microphonics. These kits are backed by over 25 years of experience in selecting pre amp valves for professional musicians who trust their sound to Watford valves.
Gain reduction 40%

The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Harma low gain 40 ECC81 kit is designed to clean up the sound out of your Fender amplifier. Using an ECC81 in place of a 12AX7 in V1 makes the amplifier quieter and gives you more extended clean headroom before breakup.

By putting this valve the V1 first gain position you will lower the gain of a pre amp circuit by around 40%. This low gain results in the greater clean headroom for your amplifier. If you are playing humbuckers through a Fender amp, using an ECC81 12AT7 is also a great way to achieve a cleaner tone and reduce the fizz.

This valve set up has been very popular with guitarists that want a cleaner amplifier sound. Especially when using pedals in the front end to get their distorted sound. The ECC81 adds more clarity and removes the fizz and mush that many players have problems with. This valve produces a warm rounded clean sound with low gain which will clean up and tame the harshest sounding pre amps.

The kit consists of 3 valves

1 Specially Selected Harma ECC81-STR for position V1
1 Specially Selected Harma ECC83 STR for V2
1 Specially Selected & Balanced Harma ECC83 STR for V3

The Harma valves are specially selected for this kit using very tight gain parameters and
gain selection of the triode sections. The valves are carefully selected for low noise and low levels of hiss and ambient noise with a signal to noise ratio better than -80dBV.
