The Mullard Radio Valve Co. Ltd was founded in 1920. In 1923,to meet the huge consumer demand in electronics Mullard entered an agreement with Philips of Holland and by 1926 Philips bought Mullard and established one of the greatest valve manufacturing companies in world history.

They developed many iconic valve such as the ECC83, EF86, EL34,EL37, EL84, GZ34 and GZ37.These are regarded as the best valves of their type ever made and original Mullard items are high prized by Musicians Broadcasters and Audiophiles the world over due to their sound quality. Mullard CV4058-M8080 is a very high quality EC90 6C4 single triode.
This valve was specially designed by Mullard for the military and has a number of special features

The CV4058/M8080 has the famous box anode plate that Mullard used the CV4003 M8136 and CV4004 M8137.These boxed anode valve are believed to be the best of their type ever made as valve was designed and specially tested by Mullard for long life and to be shock resistant.

This valve has that classic Mullard mid band response associated with all the special quality box anode types. It is fast and very dynamic and is very low noise. This valve is used in very high grade amplifiers such as the Conrad Johnson PV-14 and PV-15 series pre amps.

This valves is also excellent in any circuit that uses an EC90 or 6C4 . I have use these in my vintage Ampeg SVT amplifiers as they reduce noise when the treble is boosted via the panel switches.They also take out some of the harshness when the treble is boosted.
