These upgrade are tried and tested to help you get the most out of your Peavey amplifier.Peavey have made some really great amplifiers and combo's over the years. Here are some of my personal favourite upgrades with many customers finding that by upgrading the stock valves and speaker gives improved tone.
The kits consist of valves and speakers that enable you to voice your amplifier to your own requirements.
Special Offer 10% DiscountThe Peavey Classic 20 STR upgrade kit fitted with the Celestion G10 Green back speaker is designed to give you a classic vintage sound with plenty of warmth without hardness or top end fizz. It has the classic smooth rock sounds of the G12H with a tight bottom end kick.
The Harma ECC83 STR is used as this provides the most neutral well balanced sound out of the current production types. The valve has a nice treble without being hard or fizzy.
The Harma EL84/E84L is chosen as it has the best clean sound out of any modern EL84.
In clean mode the valve has a well-balanced sound with a deep solid bass. The valve breaks up later than many others and in overdriven conditions the valve produces a clear and defined creamy distortion. These characteristics make this the ideal valve in Fender style amplifiers.
The Celestion G10 Greenback makes the amp sound bigger than the standard stock speaker.
This is an ideal speaker for the guitarist who wants to maintain the amps clarity.
This speaker provides the classic British tight bass response with strong warm midrange clarity. Lead guitar sounds are smooth and crunchy when pushed without any loss of clarity thus making this an excellent upgrade for the Classic 20.
