Classic Early Distortion kitThe Marshall 1 watt Series JMP Classic Distortion full revalve kit is specially selected for Marshall JMP 1 Head and Combo. These Classic Marshall kits are designed to give you the classic Marshall tone with some added punch.
This is done by using modern day production valve that are traditionally voiced to sound as close to the originals in combination with an ECC81 specially chosen for its distortion characteristics.
The Harma ECC83 Retro is a true sounding recreation of the famous Mullard ECC83.This valve produces the warm detail and harmonically rich midrange that made the Mullard sound so famous. The valve has been designed to give a smooth harmonic slope which gives a warm crunch in guitar amplifiers without the high end fizz. This valve provides a smooth warm and punchy midrange with excellent clarity and tight fat punchy lows. The valves overdriven characteristics provide a warm sustaining sound with plenty of upper harmonics.
The ECC81 we use is a new old stock RFT ECC81. The reason we have chosen this valve is for its distortion and overdrive characteristics in these Marshalls. The deciding factor was the punch and more aggressive tone of the RFT when overdriven when compared to other ECC81.
The RFT has a nice open sound that sounds very clear and throaty when distorted. The bass response was deep with a nice crunch on chords with the high end also cutting through with plenty of sustain when overdriven. The valves distorted characteristics perfectly complement the warmth of the Harma Retro in pre amp and captures that vintage crunchy Marshall sound that we all love.

2 Specially Gain selected Harma ECC83 Retro in V1 & V2
2 Specially Gain selected RFT ECC81 in V3 & V4
