Z & I or Zaerix as many people know them by where a UK company that sourced valves from around the world. Many items are from companies such as G.E Mullard, RFT as they did not make valves themselves. Many items are of high quality as they were a major supplier to the M.o.D and N.A.T.O . Most valves were supplied to government contacts or from their London show rooms.
Original ECF802 branded Z & I of London
This is a rare triode pentode and was a variant of the ECF82 type that was made for electronic measurement devices. It is not not the same and not compatible in audio circuits

We have been selling a large amount of these for use in Tuners such as the Scott and McIntosh MR67. Customers have said that this valve improves the sound quality; they also tell me that this valve cannot be use in a guitar or audio amplifier as a sub for the ECF82, but can be used in Tuners

The specifications are different from an ECF82 and here they are so you can make you own mind up

ECF82
Vf=6,3V
If=450mA
Va=250V
VG2=110V
Vg1=-0.9V
Va=150V
Vg1=-1.0V

ECF802
Vf=6,3V
If=450mA
Va=300V
VG2=250V
Vg1=-1.3V
Va=250V
Vg1=-1.3V

These sell for around $30 in the United States so no wonder these have gone so quickly at our price.
