Product: EL34B -STR/TAD-CRYO
Tube Amp Doctor Cryo
Watford Valves has Cryogenically treated some of the more popular and best sounding Tube Amp Doctor valves. This process makes a permanent change and the benefits do not deteriorate over time or upon return to operating temperature, it changes the whole way the vacuum tube performs. The biggest benefits I have found has been a dramatic improvement in dynamic range. Bass response has been clearer with reduction in microphonics. The soundstage is bigger with more detail with a big reduction in the noise floor. The really most starling fact has been how the valve operates under saturated and overdriven conditions in guitar amplifiers. The distortion is smoother with less hardness and is musically pleasing to the ear.

This is a specially cryo treated version of this popular current production EL34. The latest Chinese EL34 which has seen a number of improvements which makes the tube stable and not drawing excess filament voltage.

This type has been ordered by Marshall, Diezel, Engl & Hughes and Kettner as they have found reliability satisfactory.

The design is based on the early Mullard/Philips EL34 and has been improved with a heavier military grade construction. The glass is thicker which has improved microphonic performance and the grid wire is gold plated.

The Cryo version gives greater clarity in the upper midrange, tigher and deeper bass and has a crunch sound that has a real kick.
This valve is an excellent choice for high gain applications as it has a warm fat distorted sound.

These come tested and matched by T.A.D on current draw and gain. Then are retested and matched by us.
Please note that we do not supply singles in this item.
